It's kind of a shame

This was a fantastic game in it's original form. The intro video with the Blind Guardian song, and then having the band memberd appear in game was pretty cool (if you're a fan). I grabbed the humble bundle thinking the Blind Guardian song would be on the soundtrack, but it isn't. Just a bunch of background music (although good).

They were constantly adding new content as well, with the christmas island, and later being replaced by the other island, and then the full on expansion pack.

This steam version just doesn't seem to do it justice. The compatability mode works on the retail version, but when I launch the steam version, there is no text in the game at all. All of the buttons on the main menu are blank. It also seems the into video is either gone or maybe it's just broken for me.


Deep Silver bought the sacred license from Ascaron Entertainment, who went bankrupt just about the time windows 7 came out. That's why it doesn't play nice with a windows 7 pc. The last official patch that finally got physx working right also broke windows 7 compatability.

The steam version is the exact same as the original, only with the community patch already installed I believe? Its been awhile since ive bought this game so I cant remember if I installed myself.

Does your game have the community patch installed? CM 0140 is my current version. If not, I highly recommend installing it.

As for the intro movie, it plays perfectly fine for me. Same intro as before. The blind guardian then the team of 4 fighting the skeletons.

I have no idea what you're talking about. The steam version is exactly the same, but a lot mroe stable. Just yesterday i saw the Blind Guardian concert after completing the quest.

Just downloading this game now. It sounds pretty cool, I'm not sure if I'll have the same problems. If I do I'll come back here.

It is definately a good game. If your willing to try some co op once you download it just add me. Imm willing to help you get the hang of the combat arts.

Well, i got this game too from the humble bundle and i have no problems (Windows 7) ... The only problem i can say is if you have the TeamSpeak overlay activated... then crash the game...
