Low fps in a recent machine.

Here are my main specs:
Gigabyte Geforce GTX 660 Ti
i5-3570 CPU @ 3.4GHZ
8GB RAM

And that should be enough. And yet, the game has low fps when everything is maxed out. Sure, I could lower the graphics, but there is no reason for this to run like that, I play almost every recent game maxed out without any issues.

The major thing you need to remember about this game is that it is nearly completely open world. So everything on the map, from mobs, to the trees and NPC's are all moving around and such.

Still, I've played Far Cry 3 with everything on max, except for the AA. This is an old game, I doubt this computer wouldn't run it like that.

Try disabling PhysX

When you say low fps, do you mean 30fps or lower? Because I never have a good mechine so I am used to 30 and up; anything lower is ehh. I have no problems with Sacred 2.

I'm pretty sure it was a lot below 30. But I can't say for sure, since it now crashes on "Setting up AI"... I guess the game is broken, sadly.

Yea, I maxed out the setting years ago on a Phenom II and an ATI 3870x2. Your hardware is a lot more powerful than that machine. It may be physx slowing you down. Maybe it's running physx on your cpu?

I tried to turn it off, but it won't run anymore. I'll have to have patience and try later. I'll post here if it works without PhysX. Thanks anyway. ^^

I have an issue like this, but it"s was'nt really a "low fps" problem but Overheat + fps drop, i figured out that activating PhysX + 4x Anti-Aliasing was the source of this.
I turned off AA and it worked actually properly fine, not any fps drop or overheating after that, just give a try.

Turn off the grass, it instantly gave me 10 fps more
