Sacred 2 Gold

Shame the game wasn't more popular.
At least in its final state. I didn't know about all the boot issues, but now it runs fantastically and I haven't had a problem with it. It's fairly solid all around, and I don't know why more people haven't jumped on it in its later years.

A) Graphics are fantastic B) Game is huge C) Decent story that is individualized for 6 different characters D) A fantastic albeit simple Diablo-like combat system E) Great level up system that has a ridiculous amount of potential and F) It's stable as all ♥♥♥♥.

And you can ride tigers. I mean, come on. Tigers guys, in a Diablo-like.

:) I agree with your every word !! I also want to add ; It is great FUN !!! Not only to play, but every thing you read, every thing people say - This game really puts a smile on your face, and a twinkle in your eye - Like the gravestone with the inscription " Reserved for Critics" ... !!! :) ;) :D
Great music - And the in-game concert with `Blind Guardian` is fabulous !!
Actually, there is nothing not to like in this game ! :)

I agree! I love it when one of the bandits dies and groans "I knew it... I was just an extra." There are some really amusing touches in this game.

I agree! Still love this game. Still think it's one of the best rpgs ever made, even after they shut the closed-net servers down. The game was a great mmo back in the days.
But anyone supported the company and now Ascaron is dead. S3 will become a console port so the whole future of sacred is weak.
RIP Sacred :(

Ha, glad I'm not the only one that appreciates "Blind Guardian's" participation in this game :). I was a fan of theirs long before I even played Sacred 2, and it was so awesome to hear them through the game play.

And I agree about how sad it is that the game wasn't more universally popular. It's too good of a game to let it fade into the shadows of obscurity which is why I plan to start playing it fairly regularly again, once I buy the steam copy. I'm also going to see about revitalizing what's left of the online community through Tunngle in the hopes my friend and I can take part in some online co-op action in the near future. We need to start rallying the troops, so to speak :p.

First of all; Sacred 2 Works !!!! here on Steam :) :)
Actually, it is very understandable that people did not buy this game, when they heard from their friends, and/or read online, that the game did not work . And also maybe for some; the "hack&slash"- labels.
BUT ;
There are way more to Sacred 2 than "Hack&Slash" !!! Me, I am not to keen about that kind of games, but look at me; I first bought one copy for PS3. Then one for PC that did not work, no matter what we tried. But then, when I noticed Steams version, I could not wait to buy it again !!! And now it works , Jippiii!!!
And I am certainly not alone.
I like my games to have strategy, stories, great character-developement, humour, surprises, to have puzzles , be addictive and to keep me occupied for hours when possible.
;) Oh, and just to mention a beloved detail ; I can buy my characters new stuff and dress them up in the weirdest colourful outfits, and new cool weapons whenever I want to - The choises are close to limitless! I don`t know about you all, but I love shopping and finding stuff ;) :) :)
(My favourite weapon is the blowpipe - I really wish other characters could use it besides the Dryad.)
The stories in Sacred may be a bit thin, but they are there , and all the other elements I mentioned are there 100% ! :)

The best about the game is you can change the view, I don't use it much but there's some people who can't play from above so that's a great feature

I never had any trouble with my original copy of Sacred 2 -- it worked just fine out of the box, so I guess I was lucky. Unfortunately I could never get it to work multiplayer over our LAN, so that was a disappointment. But the Steam version is great, and includes the DLC which I never did get (Sacred 1 I had everything for though). One thing the original didn't have was the ability to change your characters' appearance. I'm happy they added that, though having your character look different in the cutscenes is a bit jarring. Haha!
