Sacred 2 Gold

Sacred 2 Gold

Missing Text issue
Recently got Sacred 2 Gold, and now pretty much the UI is devoid of text. Only thing I can think of is that somehow its clashing with the previous install, which was a retail copy of hte US version. The previous install is no longer on my computer, I redownloaded Gold, and I STILL have no text.

US version ran just fine before I started playing something else, so Gold should work just fine now.

PLEASE HELP! My Seaphim is trapped in Pergatory because of this issue!

Have you installed the community patch? Maybe that would clear up the issue?

I am pleased to report that after some procrastination and a couple Google searches... I discovered the problem was in fact a Registry Key left behind by the previous US version of the game I had installed long before getting Gold. A couple letter swaps on the registry to change the Language and Speech from "en_US" to "en_UK" and I haz text! Thank you for your responses.

For the record, the registry key responsible was [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Ascaron Entertainment\Sacred 2]

The copy of Sacred 2 Gold on Steam is the UK version. The expansion Ice and Blood was never released here in the US. The reason you're getting this issue may be the same one I had, where Gold was seeing the pre existing Registry entry and having a hernia because of a version clash.

Try looking for [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Ascaron Entertainment\Sacred 2] in your registry if you're using Windows and edit things that say "en_US" to "en_UK".

Playing around with your registry can go wrong if you make a mistake, so be careful. But hopefully this will make your game playable again.

If that does't work... you could always do what Siddha suggested as well in Comment 1.
