Sacred 2 Gold comes with the elite textures?

I bough vanilla back in time and I well remember that CE contained the HD textures as an extra. Sacred 2 Gold on steam got em? Not that important.. just asking. :)

#1 - Turn turn off the ANNOYING battle music, go to:

a - C:\Users\"Your User"\AppData\Local\Ascaron Entertainment\Sacred 2\options.txt (You have to turn off hidden folders)

b - Find the line volume_group02 and change the value to 01

c - Save the file

d - Set it to read only

e - Enter the game -- BAM!


#2 - For better performance and less crashes, enter -nocpubinding -skipopenal in your launch options in Steam

#3 - For light Anti Aliasing without big performance hit, try SweetFX. If you need help, let me know.

#4 - Elite Textures are working fine with Gold version and community patch. I am looking for a hosting site and I will host the Elite Textures ISO if anyone is interested! (Permission was granted from Deep Silver to redistribute)

Takes me 10 mins with usenet :-) Or try searching for a torrent and avoid these stupid hosters. They're a pain in the back unless you pay dozens of hosters dozens of bucks.

Problem is this -- S2: Gold Edition was NOT built for HD Texture support:

bearing in mind that:
1) the elite graphics generally caused more trouble than they're worth
2) since you have gold, it includes the ice and blood expansion.......and the elite graphics predate the expansion. so new items only have standard graphics.

Original S2: Fallen Angel (base game) WAS built w/ HD Textures, though - so you can run those w/ original version, if you actually do have it.

I suggest you turn them OFF for S2: Gold, if you get them. I had all kinds of stutters, slow-downs, crashes, and other nonsense w/ them HD Textures turned on for S2: Gold on this PC (Win 7 64-bit, i7 950, 8 GB RAM, 1 GB GF GTX 560 Ti).
Turned off - game run smooth as butter w/ no issues.

Again - up to you, if you want to use HD Texture or not.
Just remember - use at your own risk.

It seems to me the game looks fine without them. I'm running i7-3610QM, GTX 675M 2GB DDR5 (pretty much identical performance to a 550ti desktop card). I run at 1080p with everything I can find cranked up, I'm not really finding myself wanting for different textures
