Crashes as much as the retail version?
Used to own the retail version of Sacred 2 Gold, but it kept crashing every 20-30 minutes, so I ended up selling the game on eBay. I tried everything to fix the crashing (.ini tweaks, RAM flushing programs in the background, running the game on low/medium settings with physx off, etc) but nothing worked.

Just wondering if they've optimized the Steam version of the game at all, or if it's still the same as the retail version?

!86 hours played, no issues at all...my retail copy was the exact same way. ( everything maxed out and more settings forced through the NVCP to max it farther )

But there are some people who get CTD's like you just said and some who have other issues i guess...

Still the same stability issues as retail, unfortunately. The game was running great until about 8 hours into the campaign, then the CTDs started. The crashes happen often during cave transitions and fighting large mobs.

I get crashes a lot. I quicksave frequently to work around them. They usually happen every four to six hours or so, no matter what I do. Accessing the world map and teleports are the most frequent crash points for me. Sometimes it just crashes suddenly for no apparent reason.

What I get upon crashing is not a CTD, but rather a complete lockup. I have to bring up the Windows task manager and end the program in order to get out of it. Fortunately, the game usually has made a save just before the crash. I very rarely lose progress, and almost never items, this way, and when I do lose some progress, it's minor.

The game is so good, I am willing to keep working around and tolerating its occasional crashes.

I had these problems on my old Deep Silver version, and the Steam version is identical as far as stability.

This program is notoriously finicky about machine specs, and operating system settings. There are apparently an infinity of mysterious, never to be completely documented, "check this here, uncheck this there" settings and memory issues that will make this Lady go frigid on you and crash.

She's worth it though. When she's warm to you, she treats you right. Really, really right. ;)

I took the leap and bought it. We'll see, but on retail I was crashing anywhere from a few minutes to 15. Horrible memory leak. If you didn't push it, and if you were lucky (ha) the game would start slowing to a horrible crawl as its resources ran out and it bogged down. Then it would crash.

I don't know. I have been playing for the last 3 hours and it runs great. I can't complain at all.

I think you should be fine as long as you don't have piece of crap hardware lol, 192 hours played no issues...game has been running all day long too, same as yesterday...still no issues even with that.
