Hi, I am a bit confused here.
No option to activate sacred 2 if you already own it + no way of buying only expansion.
No multiplayer.
No support for game.

They basically released dead game on steam for 20€, which is suffering from ton of bugs, had its servers shut down for a year and no hope for this to change.
Dont get me wrong, I love sacred and i played it alot, but if this is supposed to attract new players to the series, considering sacred 3 coming out this year, I think it will do more harm than good.
Not to mention lack of information on this. They sent me ton of mails for ton of useless info yet this was a ninja release.
Milking a dead cow is not a way to go.

Sacred 2 was put back on Steam, after one distributor and the developer went bankrupt, due to fan demand for it. If you owned Sacred 2 on Steam, it has now been replaced with a DRM-free version that no longer requires activation (for the countries Deep Silver has the rights for).

In addition, we put Sacred 2 Gold on Steam, DRM-free, for the people who wanted Ice & Blood. There was no way to release Ice & Blood separately due to having no developer and incompatibility between the two DRM-free version. If you already own Sacred 2 on Steam, you get a 50% discount to buy Gold. It was also part of the Steam Holiday sale last month as soon as it went live.

It wasn't really intended as a promotional action for us. Just a case of "fans are asking for this, can we do something about that? We can? Let's do it." :)

lol. im not aware of what bugs there was in the original version. but i havent come across anything out of the ordinary in sacred 2 gold so far. and btw the game isnt dead

While you might not have wanted this, I can say that when I noticed it was released on Steam DRM free (and after I confirmed I was not dreaming) I bought it immediately. Sacred 2 Gold on Steam is my 4th purchase of the game (PS3, XBox, PC, and Steam) and I am glad they put it here especially without the annoying DRM that took me hours to get past before.

If they released Sacred 2 Gold (with expansion + some bug fixes perhaps) on consoles, I'd be down for getting it again too. I have a GamersGate PC copy which I bought thinking it would never come to Steam again. To get it to run, I had to activate the DRM on two websites (which took multiple attempts) and also had to find a way to get it to allow me to enter the information needed as the window would not pop up as needed. It took me about 2 hours of working on it as well as days asking here and elsewhere how I might get it running.

Multiplayer only work on LAN, Online Servers are down since 1,5 year or something!! The game is not DRM free, you must activate it throught websites only two times!!! Game has a lot of bugs and crashes, but the game is better with graphics, physics, worlddesign than Diablo 3, Torchlight aso...

Steam version is DRM free, just buy download, install, play. ( and also includes Ice & Blood expansion which US copies never had before, only way to get it to work was to buy a UK copy and do a ton of edits to make it work in the registery and stuff like that, no need with this version though )

Game doesn't really have many bugs, well not as many as some other games...and the community patch fixes a ton of them, no crashes for me.
