Sacred 3 info
What does everybody think of this? i for one have posted on another forum what i think of it and well i am rather biased about it.

Pretty much Sacred 3 lead platform is going to be the Ps3 instead of the PC as it has always been.

What is your thoughts on this?

I actually kind of liked Sacred 2 on console as far as the controls go, it might not be such a bad thing. I'm really missing the hack n' slash genre this console generation, there really have not been very many compared to the PS2 era.

here is what i posted on the forum i found it on.

" I hate the idea, it is not right they're trying to make a game that started out on PC and plays better on PC all around is now being focused on consoles first instead of where they came from. I have played Sacred 2 on the Xbox....it was terrible.

Not only will it be 'dumbed down' it will be a watered down version with certain aspects and even graphics, HUD/UI etc...don't get me wrong i am not just a graphics ♥♥♥♥♥, i enjoy tons of older games and Sacred 1 is one of my all time favorites.

Nor do i like this always online co-op mode thing either, i do not want to have AI companions, i want to either play with friends or by myself or with some randoms in a server i join.

I hope they don't take out too much either, there is a ton i wish Sacred 2 didn't take out from the past game.

I am just very biased. "

I have played Sacred 2 on both the PS3 and Xbox 360... I never played it on PC because I never had a rig good enough to run it... When Sacred 2 first launched on PC, there was a ton of bugs which kept the average review scores down (same with PS3 and 360)... I am currently downloading Sacred 2 Gold here on Steam and I will report back to let you know how this new PC version fairs against the console versions... Fingers crossed :-)

i dont blame you, just look at what happened with dungeon siege 3. this is what happens when you change developers, also from what ive observed( yes i scrutinize many things) most games are designed in such a way to generate more money, either cross platform or dlc. I no longer play WoW because of this or buy games with extra drm ( origins, ubisoft, ect) so if its on ps3 ill just rent from gamefly. i still play my ps2 some (currently ff10 for 6th time) cause the games these days just doesnt cut it anymore, most are all quantity and next to no quality and dont get me started on content and dlc nonsense. so yeah i can understand your frustration.

also sorry if this seems like wall of words, i dont have very good writing, social/communication skills

And the co-op for Sacred 3 will not be "always online"... The game is co-op centric and will support online and offline 4 player co-op... If you are playing alone, there will be 3 AI characters playing along side of you during the game...
Heinrich6745 Jan 4, 2013 @ 10:09pm
^ yea i don't like that
Fraktell Jan 4, 2013 @ 10:19pm
Yeah I hear ya... Unless the AI is really good and the characters are directly tied into the story, then its probably going to suck...

That article didn't really give me a lot to go on, but it looks pretty and nothing I read really makes the game sound bad. I look forward to giving it a shot.

Do it, Sacred rocks!!!

I have been a fan of Sacred since the first, but overall my main fear is what it will be like with the ps3...let alone any console be the leading platform. i don't doubt it will be good but i know it will be much better if they focused the leading platform on the PC as it has always been. even though Deep Silver is working on the title now :/ Still imo Sacred 1 is the best, the second is great but the first one just has something special about it overall and will always hold a place in my heart lol. And not talking from a nostalgic point of view either...as i still very much play! ( same goes with Morrowind compared to the others, that is the best one imo )

I'm with you, @Heinrich6745. I smell another Dungeon Siege 3. This is very sad news indeed for PC games players. Another beloved title bites the dust. An AI-party in a single-player Sacred game? No, no, no.

I believed the reviews and forums I read, and I did not buy Dungeon Siege 3 or Dragon Age 2. Very consistently for me, consolization means I will hate the game.

I'll just have to keep enjoying my older titles. Thank goodness there are so many of them, that by the time I rotate around to my starting title, I've forgotten enough that it seems fresh again.

I didn't care for the first Dragon Age so I never bothered with the second, but Dungeon Siege III was as big of a disappointment as you've been lead to believe. The series went from a fun little action RPG to a Generic Obsidian RPG with the move and it suffered as a result. I like Obsidian and all, and I might have enjoyed DS3 more if it had been repackaged as a stand-alone title, but I went in expecting another Dungeon Siege game and walked away with something completely different.

The brief description of the new Sacred reminds me more of Kingdoms of Amalur though, which I actually enjoyed a lot. I know I'm in the minority when I say this, but Amalur is a great and very underrated game.

I love the first Dragon Age, never really played the second so i cannot say what i think of it, yes i have heard both sides about and i will find out for myself one day lol, never played Ds3, but i heard all about it, i loved the older DS games though!

Never played Kingdoms of Amalur either so not sure how that is.

Hey, I just rapped Dungeon Siege III with two of my friends and we had a blast... No, it wasn't the greatest game ever, the loot system was pretty weak and the graphics were sub-par, but it was a fun fantasy romp meant to be played with buddies... I wouldn't play through it by myself, but it was fun either way... I would not write off Sacred 3 yet, I mean there has not even been any gameplay released... Apparently, Sacred 3 will be showcased at this years Gamescon, so hopefully we will get the full low down then... I personally have high hopes for Sacred 3 and can't wait to co-op my way through it when it is released... I love the series and will play it whether or not they ♥♥♥♥ the bed with this next installment...
