Darkmatters gone?
Has any other Sacred superfan out there notice that www.darkmatters.org has gone offline, along with the Sacred Wiki? If anyone know what happened either post here or add me to friends.

Regards

This is kind of a pain for a new player as I've been looking around and it seems all the best info was compiled at this Dark Matters place.

But, its all offline including the wiki! Sucks to be the new guy I guess. =/

I think Darkmatters was hosting the Wiki as well. Darkmatters was the best English Sacred 2 community, it will be sorely missed.

I wonder why it was shut down? Perhaps over the terrible Sacred 3 butchering the franchise by turning it into something nearly totally different?

If by Sacred 3, you mean Sacred Citadel, those 2 games are different. Sacred 3 will the true to the series, while Sacred Citadel willl be some random side scroller.

No he means sacred 3 we have seen screenshots looks ♥♥♥♥. The graphics look like they where just painted on and its not open world ether. Sacred Citadel i dont even want to talk about that. lol

Sacred 3 is NOT true to the franchise. Its instanced, no open world and no loot managing while in an instance. Also you are forced to have a follower. It is still an arpg, but it focuses more on the action and less on the rpg. I'm very dissapointed :(

I still have high hopes for Sacred 3, I'll save my disapointment for when I have played the game. :D

So are there any good sources of info out there for a new player? I also just got this game and with no tutorial, I am really in the dark as to how some basic gameplay elements even work, let alone how to avoid wasting skills/points/runes/whatever...

The fun for a new player is discovering the game.
Just like Diablo, the Sacred games are not complicated, they are quite simple and straightforward.

Why on earth would you need hand-holding and a site telling you do this, dont do that, walk three steps now turn left, move few more steps now turn right....thats it you won!

This is not an mmo, dont worry about wasting skillpoints and runes, unlike mmos, these games are about having fun not playing like it was your dayjob.

Experiment, try different things and see how they work, thats part of the fun isnt it?

hope that helps

I totally agree with Kaay about having fun and exploring the depths of the game. Having said that however what I love about the Sacred series is that as much as you can build a totally dominant player character you can build a player that is simply not survivable beyond Gold Difficulty. I didn't mind in the original Sacred and enjoyed restarting each time until I didn't. I just started Sacred 2 with a HE and after reading some things am saving some items to start a Temple Guardian. I just know that from past experience reckless choices with Skills and Combat Arts when the game is going smooth in silver and gold can make platinum nearly impossible. the skill tree and open nature of this game with all the runes and ways you can mod heart awesome in this game and it is so much better to look at then say Chess. lol... I did like being able to see some damage charts and proven character mods to avoid choosing and a gimp CA. as for me, Im hoping I can flame way through the game with Arrant Lore/Focus, Ancient Magic Grand Buff.. Beyond that, which I haven't needed yet I'm thinking that Magic Coup will bring down a flame retardant foe with only Delphic Focus. If ice is the rule of the day I am only going to have the Ancient magic skill to enhance any mystic art so Im sure I'll need some kind of special tweaking and a good pair of shoes.
Does memorizing more then one of the 5 CA in a tree have a disadvantage? or is there some advantage to using say either Magic or Cobalt strike or can you simply boost both. Sacred is deep like that and it is ashame to lose resources of information. Any Niobium clearling Dryads out there?
