Beware of this title!

I saw this on the special tab and I felt like I must inform as many as I can that this game has a low chance of working properly. First off this game doesnt like Win7 and what is worse the XP compatibility won't do much. I bought this exact same game from GMG and I managed to get it working (Sound glitches and delays here and there but at least it was playable) but in the end I decided that 3 days of googling and messing around with the files was not worth the 7 bucks I paid for the game. Oh and by the way the developers went bankrupt a while ago so any official quick fixes are long gone.

If you are thinking on buying this game and have Win7/8 be prepared for applying mods and patches to fix your game. I have talked to some people over Raptr that got this game working from the start on Win7 but the ratio of working to piece of crap was 1 to 10.
I know it sounds tempting to get a dungeon siege kind of game for under 10 bucks but as they say, if it seems too good to be true chances are it probabbly is. Just be aware of the problems that linger this release.
Still a meh game for what is worth but just beware the game might or might not work properly.

Some people had the game working and some witth he same specs suffer from memory leaks to Stuttering to unplayability. I wanted to make this not as a "Do not buy this game" hate thread but at least to make people aware that this wans't a flawless release.

I had to add -skipopenal launcher option and after that it runs even when I remove compat settings.

Game works great here on Windows 7 64 bit. Vanilla worked great, the community patch worked great (using it now) I also have the Elite textures installed.

Look through other threads and you will find there are some issues (mostly AMD cards, because lack of PhysX) but most people are running the game without issue.
I can't speak for Win 8 although I have seen people running this on 8.

Had you searched through these threads you would have seen the warnings already.

By the way, this is a great game.

The good news is there are alot of postings on how to fix most of the issues so you can google your way out of alot of it.. Worked perfectly fine on my win 7 system thankfully.

I ran this on w7 64+32 and winxp 32 (5570 amd). Havent had any issues.

The only bad thing about pc games is, not all games work with soo many custom pc builds hence why the errrors people tend do get ;( . Unlike Console games, its only 1 machine, works all the time, unlike pc gamers.

i played a few hours yesterday with -skipopenal -nocpubinding launch options + elite textures installed and did not crash any. The only issue I can think of is sometimes main menu is a black screen until you blindy interact with an option then it redraws itself.

Running a 660ti on Win 7 64 bit.

This game is another failed game on Win7!!! I have latest PC with GeForce 650GT and the game will not start! I get message: ``the program can`t start because the PhysXLoader.dll is missing. .........``There is no obvious way to load this .dll so I have to uninstall this game after installing 13.6GB of this useless garbage! Is there any way to fix this specific problem??????

After adding -skipopenal, my install works fine with windows 7.

Advent, googling physxloader.dll gives a wealth of potential fixes. Try going here: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Sacred 2 Gold\redist\PhysX and using the PhysX app there to uninstall and reinstall PhysX.

After installing the game have you tried re-installing PhysX and or re-booting your PC?
In your case it would be re-installing the GeForce drivers.

I have an older Dell Workstation that I dropped in a newer GTX 550 Ti. I am running Windows 7 64bit and have NEVER had an issue with this game.

Therefore it is NOT "another failed game on Win 7" as you state.

I believe you have misunderstood the point of this thread. This is in no way claiming the title is unplayable or flawless, this hread was made to point out that the game itself might need tweaking in order to work as intended. The developing of this game stopped half way through a patch leaving the latest patch full of bugs and glitches that never got solved until the community stepped in.

Let us just see the facts though:
- This game might or might not work on your system.
- Developing on this game is now cancelled.
- Community has stepped in to release unoficial fixes.

Those are red flags when purchasing a game. You don't want to purchase a car with a sign that says "No warranty whatsoever, but if you know a local mechanic go to him for assistance".
Now that I think this is clear this title May or May Not! work hence the BEWARE! at the top.
Yes, if you are about to throw the "some people got it going on the first try" I agree, some people have been fortunate to play hassle free, but people with similiar, identical or better specs had no such luck and a pc release should have a greater good to bad ratio.

I have this game, and it is a 6.5 to 7/10 to me and I got it working after a while, still it didn't work the minute I installed it.

I play under win7 without problem. I got only one crash after screenshot since i play it. I don't use any patch, add on or comunity features to play it. All i noticed is the game run slow.

For those with physx issues perhaps the latest Physx package + legacy Physx package from Nvidia download site might be worth trying. IIRC, this was something I had to install in order to get Velvet Assassin to work a while back. Legacy: http://www.nvidia.com/object/physx-9.12.1031-legacy-driver.html
