Editing the game files
Hello, I'd like to know if I can edit the game files without being banned. I'm asking this because I was reading some topics and someone said that most modding violates the Steam TOS.
It's nothing major, just some tweaks on the .txt files and sounds.

Thanks in advance!

I sincerely doubt it; I have been modding my Steam games for years with not a care in the world. Besides, this game isn't competitive multiplayer, and even if it was, it's not VAC-protected.

For example, I modded the heck out of both L4D and it's sequel (with weapon skins and new weapon sounds), a game that most definitely is VAC-enabled.

If you're that worried, send Steam support a mail and receive a cookie cutter pre-typed response stating that altering the game is against the TOS etc. Well actually, maybe not, as I just remembered Steam Workshop. Yeah, you'll be fine :p
