does this game only support nvidia cards?
I've seen people saying to update physx, and only pointing to nvidia locations repeatedly, i'm getting a physx related issue, am I screwed because i've got a radeon hd 5670?

No. I use an ATi AMD system with an Radeon HD 7770. The PhysX legacy drivers are simply special effects drivers that the game incorporates and won't start without them. Once in the graphics options menu, you have the chance to turn PhysX on or off abliet on requires a lot more processing power.

If you can't get it started after that then look up the Sacred 2 community patch. Good Luck.

i've already installed the community patch, and updated my drivers, anything else I should do?

also, the specific error I seem to get is the following:
cPhysics::init - NxCreatePhysicsSDK failed
startupEngine physics init failed
setupEngine failed
Setup() failed

No such thing as a game that only supports Nvidia.
Your GPU does suck though. Badly. Just a notch/two above HTPC.

You might want to check the local files for Sacred 2, in the redist folder. There should be a PhysX folder, with an installer in it. Install that and your error should go away like it did for me.
Good luck!

actually, I used nvidia link, because the physx executable was apparently too old, and the nvidia link can be used for radeon cards.

^ What Vader Said. I'm running an AMD video card and it runs... I mean it's not entirely stable but that's because it's freaking Sacred 2, not because it's an AMD. :)

My Sacred was crashing after 10 minutes or so; I uninstalled the PhysX drivers, and installed the drivers that are in the Sacred 2/redist folder and it's a lot less crashy. Well, it worked for me.

As long as the PhysX drivers are installed, it will detect that you don't have hardware and not use PhysX (which is fine because a mid range CPU is much faster than the original PhysX hardware -- i have it in a box somewhere downstairs LOL! And there's really no reason whatsoever to accelerate physics when the CPU has extra cores that aren't doing anything, just swamps the PCIe bus. A good idea 10 years ago but past its prime).

Latest drivers here: http://www.nvidia.com/object/physx-9.13.1220-driver.html
Also install the community patch + item mod for a better experience..
Sacred 2 is very stable for me, hope it helps...
