I will say this: I used to run XP Pro/32 on this exact same hardware, and Sacred was solid as a rock. So honestly I can't fault them on that. With Win 7 Ultimate, it's not. The Gold version was supposed to fix Win7 compatibility, and it only got me halfway to stable. I feel a little bit screwed. Which is nothing new, really, when I think about the various crap video games I've bought in the past. At least I know I like this one. :)
But I've seriously thought about building a standalone XP box just to play Sacred. Is that sad?
on my bros old windows vista tower it worked the first time off the bat from the steam installation without any issue, but after he reformatted it wouldnt run at all. all i would get is "failled to launch game, Unknown Error"
on his new Win8.1 tower, i took some configuring but i have it running on there, however i did noticed it skipped the PhysX setup on the first time setup when i ran it for the first time.
the best answer i could give someone is make sure you uninstall your PhysX before installing this game, let it install its redist, then reupdate PhysX to the current version again.
Also, I can confirm it works on W7 (my old OS) and Vista (my old computer) too.
Fix your PC first.
^^ It took adding a 750 ti as Physx for my 780 to max this with little fps drop, but the game sails...
Yea, only with Physx can you be excited about maxing a 6 year old game on a higher end GPU. =/ Wonder why we don't see more Physx games. ;)
Can you be more specific about what you did? My fps is quite choppy...
