The fix would be to wait for a patch since it is in Beta.

Great to know this latency issue is being fixed. I was experiencing the same thing yesterday.

You got "Latency too high" message if you have ping to host higher than 150ms.

what do you think is most suitable ping limit?
Juras Oct 9, 2013 @ 9:26am
Thats hard, maybe just let people to decide that would be the best option(ping limit set from lobby). I can tell my pings(Poland) with people from rest of the world: USA (east coast) 140 -160, USA (west coast) 180-220, Canada 140-180, Brasil(unplayble) >240, Asia (unplayble) Australia>300 (unplayble) so with ping limit 150 i can only play guys from Europe and New York state.

I think you should add a slider in the future where you can select maximum ping limit, sort of like the one in Counter Strike:Global Offensive. As of now, though, I think 150 ping limit is fine.

I gotta be able to at least play with my European buddies; 200 cap would work for me. Anything above that is getting pretty bad, as Juras said. 200 is a good number.

@Termit did you change ping limit? i just joined your room ...
Lunick Oct 10, 2013 @ 3:10am
I think 200 as the normal maximum would probably be the right amount. I'm not sure how bad latency is for Duke anyway since I played with a friend from Israel and it was pretty laggy...

Not yet, I'm in Russia right now, so we should have good ping between us.

200ms sounds reasonable. But ping is not the only important parameter, you can have low ping, but if package loss is high the game still will be really laggy.

i was thinking about this, in my opinion lobby settings should include ping limit choice such as <150, <200 and noone which should allow everyone joining ur room this would be the best from my online practice

Indeed. Can anything be done to help reduce packet loss? It's essentially the bane of duke3d multiplayer.
