I wish I could make maps, but I lack creativity.
If any of you could make a map perfectly, what would you try and make?
Yeah the build engine is quite unique in that regard i suppose. There's already an ocean of maps out there but it'd be nice to see some life come back to the community inspiring new mappers to the playing field.
I'm sure it'll boom soon as the new multiplayer is implemented. Nothing inspires mapping like actually playing multiplayer on that game.
The top floor would then be the final battle where the aliens have taken control of some kind of super technology. Like an infinite energy generator like what Tony Stark would have made in those Iron Man movies. Your progress is always impeded by having to find the keycards, or broken elevators. Heck, sometimes you have to go down in order to come back up. That's my dream episode.
Edit: Because it's Duke Nukem, all of those Duke one-liners which are taken from 80's/90's action movies would fit in so perfectly. I imagine this is kind of like Die Hard or something.
Sounds like an awesome map to play! you should start looking into how mapster32 works and start practicing for it.
Or at least design it out and get a decent mapper to colaborate with you on it.
Before all this i was working on a map that was inside a cave with lava and you had a lot of crap to jump from, it seemed pretty cool at the time. I'm thinking of re-doing it since i never actually got to save that i think. It would make a good DM map i think.
