I'll be as happy as you are, but it's undeniable that the devs were not straight with us here. You might not care about multiplayer, but it was a big part of Duke 3d back in the day and other people care about it. It's not like people who don't care about multiplayer will lose something, right?
Yes I know that it was a part of the original game, but there are always alternatives. plug in the old n64, call your buddies, and order a pizza and party all night in Dukematch. :)
I don't get it.
Anyways, the original version of the game had multiplayer, though it's not so easy to set up and play like it would be with Steamworks.
I cannot agree more with him. Had I known that multiplayer wouldn't come up as promised, I would never have purchased it again :(
DNF joke out of the way, megaton does give us the expansions to enjoy as well as the original classic version so we can enjoy the other ports of the game and mods. If you're familiar with the port xduke and yang you can use that to achieve multiplayer. But its old network coding and such does make for a usually laggy and jittery gameplay but if you're on client side no ports need to be opened, only hosts need to bother themselves with such tedious tasks.
But really if they do deliver when they said they're going to deliver then 10 dollars of our money and 2 months of our time is a small price to pay for some refined good ol fashioned Duke matches.
Also i'm kind of lead to believe the steam community caused this themselves by asking for shadow warrior. Game developers and business men are like people in a bank, if you announce that a certain bank teller position is going to be throwing money out the window where do you think all the people in the bank will go? Certainly not to the bathroom.
Anyway that's my "Trying to stay awake until i can go to sleep" rant for the day!
Can't, it's not a property of 3D Realms or Devolver Digital. Go bother Atari.
I am greatful they are being ported to Steam at all really. I was not expecting it to ever happen.
