Custom textures and sounds
Way back when (the heydays of the 486 DX/266) I created about 300 custom textures and replaced many original sounds. I still have my official Duke Level Design Handbook which tells a lot about map building, custom stuff and all but here's the kicker: with this new Steam edition I can't seem to have my textures to appear and my sounds to be played. File structure seems to have changed so I was wondering if anyone knew where to put these custom files so they appear in-game.

Any custom art/sounds can be put in the gameroot folder.

Back in the days of DOS it meant putting them where the duke3d.exe was located. I've tried that in the root folder of the Steam installation and nothing's happening...

Still no go. Wish the info would have been included. Or if it's even supported at all.

What are the art file names? They should be so etching like TILES014.art etc. I've never had a problem with this and I just double checked that it works for me...

That's exactly like they are. Although I should mention that I'm trying this on the Megaton Edition, and not the regular vanilla.

What does that have to do with this? You don't even own the game.

Ok, where did you put the .art files then?
haha nerds... 18 lutego 2014 o 4:57
I've used custom art, I just put the art files in the "Steam\steamapps\common\Duke Nukem 3D\gameroot" folder.
Note that TILES014.ART and TILES015.ART doesn't show up in the original game levels, only in user maps which use them (in case you've forgotten).

Is there anyway that when you upload a map to the workshop to have them contain custom sounds or textures or will they just not show up at all with how workshop works?
