Game's speed was not always like this. You know old CPU´s where not so fast like today´s. So it always was an problem for many emulators to simulate the right performance. So it is possible in DOS-BOX to calibrate the CPU Speed.
# core -- CPU Core used in emulation: normal,simple,dynamic,auto.
# auto switches from normal to dynamic if appropriate.
# cycles -- Amount of instructions DOSBox tries to emulate each millisecond.
# Setting this value too high results in sound dropouts and lags.
# You can also let DOSBox guess the correct value by setting it to max.
# The default setting (auto) switches to max if appropriate.
# cycleup -- Amount of cycles to increase/decrease with keycombo.
# cycledown Setting it lower than 100 will be a percentage.
core=auto
cycles=max
cycleup=500
cycledown=20
gerenderten, die auch noch sehr viel Leistung zogen.

Sicher hatte ich damals keinen so teueren PC, ich glaub es war eher ein hoch getakteter 486 (~Pentium 60)
Das Feeling stimmt einfach nicht!
The balancing is not good any more.
It must be better in the past, because I loved the game before and I would not remind me if it was like today!
But in multiplayer it is worse, it is extreme chaotic, there is now time for tactic or finesse.
damned right (chuckle)
I think the balancing of the speed is not right. I did not know how to change but I think it is a problem of the Build engine.
Monsters are to slow, Duke is to fast !!!! I played it 1996 and it was not so easy!!!!
Have you played the game on a old computer?

How do you know? "This is how duke have always been. "

I´m not sure if you are saying the truth, because you did not answer my question for so long! Why are you steam level 0? I think you are not old enough for playing 1996?
