If you're searching for a game which goes right into the feelings, this is a good one for you. Brothers - A Tale of Two Sons
totally kills it, and I really recommend playing it.
As two brothers you go on a thrilling adventure, to get medicine for your sick father, who can barely move. On that adventure, it's your mission to solve riddles, interact with a lot of things you can see while moving through the game and explore as much as you can. From time to time and scene to scene, it gets more dangerous for the two brothers, and you get some more challenges to master. On this journey, you will meet friendly people and creatures, but also the complete opposite of it.
Graphics, Animations and Sounds
This game is just beautiful. Everywhere you go, you will see something you want to keep as a screenshot to take a close look at it later on. You are able to run through villages, ice-, stone- and wonderful other landscapes. And next to all these magnificent things, you'll encounter a lot of other beautiful stuff. And even if these are "just" dogs or cats you meet on the way, therefor the developers made even great, lovely-to-see animations. The younger brother can even cuddle with a cute cat. And be honest, who doesn't want to see that? You can interact with mostly everything you see. You can "speak" to people with both of the brothers and just enjoy the little animations.
The music is heartwarming. At special points, music you heard earlier, comes back to give you (like other games do) some memories from the beginning. Likely everything has a great sound. Think about the feeling while running through water, maybe even swimming, hearing the birds tweeting and the water rushing while sweet music is playing in your ears. It gives a perfect atmosphere everywhere you go, and that makes the game even more enjoyable.
There is no special need for a controller, even though it can be a little bit confusing, playing two characters at the same time. When you start off, it will be hard to control both but it won't get you into trouble. They won't get lose, since there is a special range, a bond, between those brothers, which will keep them together. Sometimes it's easier just running with one, but more often you try to run with both, the easier it gets. I wouldn't say I recommend playing with the keyboard just 'cause I am used to it, but don't be scared of the weird feeling controlling two characters and move over to the controller. Stay loyal to your keyboard!
ThoughtsBrothers - A Tale of Two Sons
is one of the most beautiful games I have ever played. Not just because of the looks or the sounds, I had a full focus on the heartwarming, even heartbreaking story. Most games like these don't have an happy-ending,
but in this game I accept it. Because on my journey, I met many things which made me really happy and helped me smiling for a lot of minutes. And in usual, I concentrate on achievements while starting a game, 'cause I like to have 'em all. But here, I totally forgot about it. I started playing and lost myself in the magic this game has. I re-played the chapters I needed for the last achievements, even after crying for over 10 minutes about the sad ending.
And it was totally worth it.
If this game won't make you smile, cry, and suffer at the same time, I don't know what should.
