controller issue
this game recognizes my controller at the start screen because when i unplug it i get the warning that the games should be played with a controller, plug it back in and it goes away..I go to play the game and it says hit enter not start..This game will not recognise the controller at all and i see ALOT of others are having the same problems..Normally i search the topic and post in that thread but the devs don't even respond to complaints so i will make one more thread on it..

Yeah, i even tried setting up my keyboard to play (which is horrendous) and select the english language to and i get some gibberish i cant understand..I am not gonna play it much longer with a keyboard because it really is a game that requires a controller..I'm gonna give it a bad review and hope it deters some others in my friends list from buying it

Wonder if steam will give a refund, I have a bunch of games and have never had to ask for one yet

This game looks good and gets many times title Game of the year, so I bought gamepad (because developer say it´s better and they provides gamepad support) and now I can ´t play. :(

Only thing which can help me, is, but be prepared to one hour of trying of setting up.

Don´t understand why developers using only xinput. Direct Input is more advanced.

+1 for Skrill3xdub's solution. It'll take some wonky stuff (you may have to reprogram the controls), but I got my ancient generic USB controller to mimic an Xbox 360 controller and be recognized by the game :D

I have a generic powerwave usb controller and the xbox360cemu emulation worked for me, without any extra button remapping.
I used this one:
Extracted to the steamapps\common\Brothers - A Tale of Two Sons\Binaries\Win32 directory.
And had to run the exe directly as steam would somehow make it not see the controller still.
