Innovative energy management: players can transfer the ship’s power between engines, shields and weapons, depending on the needs of the moment --> since when is this innovative? x-wing already had power control back in 1994. godsdamn frakkers...

I've been trying, but not managing, to think of a space combat game where you didnt have some kind of power swapping system. Vague memories of something on the zx spectrum that had it.

Might be innovative as there's no sliders involved. Been a long time since I played xwing games but dont think it was a simple keypress to bounce power from one system to another. Irons sky's is faster to do on the fly whereas the slider method is more for a long term power setting.

Certainly the demo makes long phases of combat start to become a juggling act as power gets low and you're bouncing it around between weapons, engines and shields.

@ Pvt.Parts - probably you mean first Elite?
actually later Eltes also didn't had it.. but mostly.. this became known due to starwars movie and games. Oh, and they have risk to run into IP infringement, as UI control \management methods ripped from x-wing, to the point of radar indication (and position).
