Looks amazing, but is it in fact?
Is this like X-1/2/3 or Galaxy on Fire or Wing Commander, or is it a kind of action strategy, or just a shooter like Descent Free Space, or...?

It's basically a very simple space shooter with mouse controls. It has a touch of the RTS/management about it in the form of a big map where you choose your fights and have to respond to threats. The game is surprisingly fun, the combat feels punchy, even if the upgrades for ships are "meh". Best of all, it has some pretty nifty dialogue and storyline that will have you smirking at times. No previous knowledge of the movie is necessary, but it does help.

Thanks mate, I was thinking of something little more deep

Than you have to wait until X3 Rebirth will be released. The only problem is that those Egosoft ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥s wont publish a tiny bit of info on their forum. The community is waiting for years now and still nothing nada. The other game would be Star Citizen, they made the pledge of 2 million(!!) but still we have to wait for two years....next to that, nothing i know of.

Just as an addition. Star Citizen has a total pledge ammount of 7 milllion now

I´ll probably try Iron sky out soon if it indeed is quite decent. As pointed out stuff like Star Citizen will maybe be better, but it is a pretty moot point when it´ll still take years for it to come out.

It is decnet, but the price is far too high, for the amount of content. I would say 10-15 euro would be more precise. Didn't notice any bugs, beside 2 weird/fun ones.

Only played the demo so far, definately gonna pick it up when it is on sale. For a movie tie-in game it is suprisingly well done.

Yeah I finally got to playing the demo too and it is quite decent. I´ll grab myself a boxed copy after christmas since I kinda want to support the whole Iron Sky thing anyway. Tho I have to agree that around 10-15e this would be a great purchace, but right now it is probably on the expensive side for what it does even if it works well.

Fairly simple but fun game, about as much depth as the movie. Neither are going to be winning bafta's or whatever but doesnt mean you wont get some enjoyment from them.

There's a demo, give that a try rather than relying on metacritics iffy scoring system.

Some of the actors from the movie feature in the briefings/cutscenes with varying degrees of awkwardness. Girl that plays Renate doesnt seem as comfortable interacting with a camera pretending to be the player as madam president does.

Only quibble I've had with it is that the briefings tend to come mid combat and put the video right slap bang in your field of view that you're trying to use for targetting hostiles. Thats something I think is a bad habit by game devs as it can at times get you killed. Natural reaction to someone that calls for a chat while you're facing down a capital ship would not be to chat away but tell them to call back, or something more colourful.

ignore my ear;ier comment , this is a great game with a great sense of humour , the combat too has a lot going for it with enough system power switching on the fly to make it almost rock paper scissors in some battles one for space combat and ones with a sense of humour, the dynamic mission selection is new for us old Freespace and X Wing Menu screen fans . Dude I just saved a Bollywood director being kidnapped by Moon Nazis at the request of the Indian PM whilst filming the G Dubbya Bush in battle for the US President...genius ,,somebody please tell me how to upload videos to the hub : http://youtu.be/vOsLpR69fVI

"Fairly simple but fun game, about as much depth as the movie." - agree with Pvt.Parts. I read some German video game mag reviews, along the same line. This 'game' profits clearly from their CnC/WC FMVs. It's fun for a short time? I don't know if a good short joke is worth that price.

Personally, after playing the demo, I was not disappointed. I expected a half-baked, mediocre game and that was exactly what I got. Flying felt somehow uncomfortable and the whole atmosphere was just weak.

Also, the voice actor of the pilot made me grinch every time he lazily delivered his lines in a half-asleep trance. Not to mention the music which I felt didn't fit AT ALL, especially if you saw the movie (which, like the game, was pretty disappointing).

Closing point: if you want a mediocre space shooter: just buy darkstar. It's at least cheaper and has trading/smuggling as an addon.
