Fairies, or, am I just blind?

As the title implies, I'm having trouble finding fairies. I haven't found a single one yet and have pretty much no idea where the buggers are hiding.

I'm sure I'll feel dumb when someone points it out where to look, but could you give a fellow ninja a hand?

One ghost told me some brick got flashy blue part and you can place bomb to destroy it. Actually i found only one in all my games xD good luck :)

I only found one also. Then lost it on the way down.

Certain blocks will have a vaguely X-shaped light blue crack in them. The only way to destroy them is with a bomb, like Unexpected Buddy mentioned. Not all of these blocks will have a fairy hidden in them but before too long you'll start to recognize the room formations that do contain fairy blocks.

If you still need help figuring out which blocks to look for, there's one particular type of room that has three monkeys behind a wall; the kicker is that about half of said wall is made of these type of blocks, so take a close look before blowing it open (given, there's no fairy but it'll give you a good idea of what to look for).

Edit: My apologies; upon reexamination it appears that the shape of the crack will vary with the tileset currently in use. Even the colour may appear as more of an off-white at times. Regardless, the cracks are almost always uniform in width and the shape they form typically takes up most of the tile, so it's still not too hard to spot them.

I believe the "crack" will have a vague silhouette in it if I recall correctly. Even X-Ray Specs dont help, but a Familiar will. All the cracked walls I saw always look wierd and Ive always gotten a fairy out of them, maybe I juust have a high intuition on these things, not sure. Good luck
