Can't play, keep getting sessionbanned.
MY friend is trying to play this game, however after 5 minutes or so of playing the game he gets kicked with the sessionbanned message saying he can rejoin on the next map. Tried reinstalling and fixing punkbuster but no luck. If anyone could help it would be great. Thanks:)

That sounds like a problem to post on the official forums under tech support he might have found a rare bug that def needs some looking at.

No no no. He does not. It is a problem with the game, the speedhack issue most likely. He gets into games without firing a gun and it still happens. Often he gets no error messages or anything, entitrely random.
cheers for input anyway

Cheers lad, I have already emailed it to them, just have to wait it out.

Tell him to try this.

Go into:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Rising Storm Beta\Binaries\Windows

In there he should find pbsvc_hos. He should run it to freshly reinstall punkbuster.

Let me know if it works!

Good point......if a PB server and not up to date...ya that could be it.

it might also be related to his Anti Virus, being that it is a new game it might not be in his accepted programs tab...thing...w/e it is.

Did he hit "no" on the punkbuster message the first time he opened the server browser?

Use the PunkBuster Updater to update PB and see it that works...

Thankyou all people. he's updated punkbuster and all that jazz, port forwarded as well for good measure. Havnt tried the antivirus thang yet, but checked his firewall and Rising Storm is allowed through fine. when he joins my game through steam he is fine and doesnt disconnect, but if he joins a server through the browser and plays by himself then it's sessionbanned galore. Updated java and a load of other shizz now, just have to wait it out and see if it works.

RO2 was unplayable for me because of this. I downloaded WLAN Optimizer after reading a suggested fix on another forum. Never had a "Speed Hack" problem since.

I don't have a link to it, but a quick Google search should sort you out.

No worries. I'm not an IT guy so this explanation may not be 100% accurate, but the majority of the times that happens has to do with the wireless network. From what I researched, every minute or so your wireless adapter will ping your router resulting in a moment of data loss. For whatever reason, Punkbuster interprets this as a speed hack, which it obviously isn't. WLAN Optimizer basically smooths out your wireless connection so you don't get this loss and therefore don't get booted.
