The weapon's EGO level changes the number of slots that the weapon already has open, the weapon's bonus stats and whether weapon synergy is available.
Synergy + Mod Slots
White weapons don't have a synergy bonus.
Synergy on orange and purple weapons might appear on EGO 250.
Synergy on blue weapons might appear on EGO 500.
Synergy on green weapons might appear on EGO 800.
From EGO level 1000 and up, syenrgies become more common to find.
EGO level 10 might get you 1 mod slot already open.
EGO level 100 might get you 2 or 3 mod slots already open.
EGO level 1000 might get you 4 mod slots already open.
From around EGO level 1500 all green, blue, purple and orange flavour weapons should always have a synergy bonus on them. But their mod slots might not be open.
At EGO level 2000 you will might get 1 mod slot open.
EGO level 2400 you will might get 2 mod slots open.
EGO level 3200 you might get 3 mod slots open.
Ego level 4000 you might get 4 mod slots open.
If you find a weapon at EGO level 2000 it should have synergy attached to it, but it might not have any mods slots open. (you'll have to pay using the salavge matrix to add them)
At EGO level 4500 all weapons you find should have synergy and 4 mod slots already open on them.
Weapon Bonus Stats
These weapon bonus stats appear below the mod slots, (e.g +0.10 reload speed, +4 mag both for Bolt Action Sniper Rifles) when you fill the weapons mastery bar up, you'll get 1 extra bonus stat appear.
White weapons can only have a max of 1 weapon bonus stat on them (2 with the weapon mastery bonus unlocked)
Green weapons cans have a max of 2 weapon bonus stats on them (3 with the weapon mastery unlocked)
Blue weapons cans have a max of 2 weapon bonus stats on them (3 with the weapon mastery unlocked)
Purple weapons cans have a max of 3 weapon bonus stats on them (4 with the weapon mastery unlocked)
Orange weapons cans have a max of 4 (3 if it's a BMG) weapon bonus stats on them (5 with the weapon mastery unlocked)
The higher the EGO level of the weapon, the more likely they'll have more/max bonus stats appear on it.
