it never gave me an option, I still had defiance downloaded from when it was a free weekend. Maby I need to reinstall

Right click the game in your library and click 'view CD key' then log in to the defiance website using your trion account, and enter the key. Use that same account to log into the game when you launch it from steam.

Yeah, the intregation with the actual defiance site got a little wierd.
