You'll never play a day without encountering hundreds of players. Arkfall events are what draw on the most of 'em but honestly, in the wild, you'll see a handful of people every 30 minutes or so. Mainly concentrated in hotspots like towns, arkfalls or random events.

The good thing about it is if you;re on the same mission they will automatically sync and you can help eachother without having to create a group.

Just checked:

11:42 (UK GMT) - 20/02/13: 342 players online, according to Steam.

Not many.

Not everyone plays through Steam.

I work 3rd shift so I play at odd hours, but I typically find that I run across a handful of people here and there when I'm out roaming the world. Enough that I don't feel alone and that I get that bit of help here and there, but not so many that I feel that it's crowded.

It's during the arkfalls and sieges (whenever they get added back in) that you'll see 20-40 people all come together in one place.

Aye, I thought that there were others who did not play through Steam. However, it's not possible for me to check on their number. I just wanted to try help out, just a little...

i Play through the trion build, i would say there is considerably more people who play there than steam. Because it's cheaper got the deluxe version for £27. Which is a bargain for me imo. Love the game though. question though for you can you play against players that do not play via the steam build? As I have a friend who plays on steam, and i'm playing through the trion build

The community is strange. For example, the terrible chat interface means its almost impossible to communicate to clan. Some people use steam chat but that is not really good for groups.

Fans of the show will find out that the game has little to do with it. Even episode missions seem out of whack with the TV. (E.g the cuse the plauge tv episode suddenly becomes a zombie plauge in the game)

The game has good ideas but I feel they have abandoned it now. Before anyone moans, you can see I have over 70hrs logged so I am speaking from a position of strength.

The other aspect is lack of weapon trading & community market means everyone is untimatly a solo player.

The arkfall events however, are a good idea, and missions sync with anyone nearby you making it easy to jump in and help random people on the same "quest", which is a great idea, if only they executed the rest of the game properly.
