Oh and by the way, anyone who buys lock boxes with in game resources or real life money had better not bother. You get crap loot just like everywhere else in the game.
That's not true. I bought one with 64 keys, got an orange shotgun and a purple smg, both are really good. While using them i realised that despite almost all weapons having basicly the same stats there are still some good weapons. Too bad i've fully leveled them both now and no longer get weapon xp for them.
As far as failing goes, It will need a constant flow of lots of content to keep people around. There isnt much reward to grind for (just outfits that I know of) once people finish the storyline.
They have some big patch coming and they show starts in a few days. They better do something cool.
Also, I'm pretty sure the game does a fair bit of instancing, so for any given area that are multiple instances with people fighting in that (e.g. Iron Demon's Ranch has a phase with combat in it, but most of the time people are shopping there).
You do realize there are more than that playing on just Steam right? You can see it on the list.
Come on...
Also, many don't even use Steam because of the early release. I still don't run it through Steam.
I said in game many times, never mentioned steam once.
Depends when you log on and where your at. I see tons of people when im on, but if i log off and then back on, i typically get put on a shard with less people (unless a friend phases me to his shard and its packed)
Packed shards are fun for arkfalls, but it gets to the point on missions where you really are not doing anything since so many people are helping, yes the mobs do scale quite a bit with more people around.
If you asked forum posters, every mmo has failed...every single one. We all know thats not true.
People act like its politics with mmo games. Have to trash the other side, and try to convert players to your game. Best way to do that is to scare off as many people from playing as possible. Its sad really.
This games fun, youll get way more hours of gameplay (if you like TPS games) than a single player game that costs just as much. Thats ignoring the free content updates as well.
So far im enjoying it, more than i thought i would.
This makes sense then, wasn't aware of the server shard situation. Also i didn't really think about the fact that it was on consoles too, i guess as a MMO i just automatically think PC only.
What you said would explain the amount of people bad-mouthing Defiance before it was even released then.
