To Buy or Not to Buy?
Here is my advise.

Buy it if:

You like the TV Series & want to feel more apart of that "world."
You like open world action games.
You are looking for a "Single Player" MMO. *yes I said single player, GL on finding tons of active players outside of Ark falls.

Do NOT Buy if:

You are looking for a popular MMO
A game that has hundreds of players running around doing things.
You expect a 100% polished issue free game.
Looking to chat in game with ease.

Overall: For the price of $10, the game is fun enough to keep you busy for a few hours( 2 to 50) for your average gamer, more if you are easy to please.

For the $10 I spent, I have no complaints-provided I refer to the above guidelines

hmmm i just about fully agree with this apart from a few notes. This game all comes down to the experience a person finds in it. The problem isnt that the game is inactive its that Trion doesnt fill up a phase (or server if u wanna call it that) before placing players into a different phase. This then leads to the player base being scattered all over in 100's of different phases and then giving off the illusion that the game is dead.

My best advice would be to find a clan to join asap and a active one at that. This will open up the chance for you to port to ur fellow clan mates and enter their phases at will. This will greatly increase ur experience with the game as it did for me. Iv had this game since steam launch and i play 60 hours before i got bored at first all by myself with no clan no freinds. However i started playing again a few weeks back n got into a clan almost instantly and have now raised my hours to 300.

End Note
does the game feel a bit dead when u play by urself - yes
does the game have bugs - yes (but most are just pesky small ones)
could the chat be improved - yes (not the worst iv seen tho)
do you need to watch the TV show to like the game - no iv never seen 1 episode
is the game worth $10 - yes as $10 will still give u a decent amount of wasted hours

Also if ur paying $10 for a game dont ever expect it to be 100% perfect no game is perfect and no game ever will be. Base a games value on ur personal experience and how many wasted hours u got out of it for the amount of money u paid.

It's a great buy. Join a clan and you have people to hang out with and talk to. The game is solid and for $10 you won't find a better MMO deal like this. It's real time combat no hitting abilities and it's all skill shot. If you want to compare it to a game you can think of it like Borderlands the MMO. Destroyed world, sponge enemies and TONS of loot. If you have $10 to blow and if you have friends/join a clan you're going to have a lot of fun.

Good advise, but as for the clan, its a no go, for some of us. I dont play it daily, hell, maybe once a week or 3x a month. Most clans boot for inactivity. I have other games I play regularly, which was too mych for my last clan on Defiance, as I was booted, or maybe it disbanded. But overall, I agree with your added info.

The game may sem dead as of right now but the 2nd seaosn has even started yet so I think when that starts to air again maybe the game pop. will rise again for a short period of time :)

As you were told in the other threads you were posting in, you needed to register on the forums, when you verfied the games content, it scanned the entire game. Otherwise, I do not know. You are the ONLY person I have seen posting peoples threads about having to download the game 2x. I can understand if you have a really slow internet connection how that would be annoying. I have cable, game installs in 5 to 10 minutes for me

To buy or not to buy? The game hasn't been in the Steam top 100 for months and while I know that isn't completely indicative of the population (since it can be played without Steam at all), it does provide evidence of the game's problems. According to the game's own community, the DLCs are just rehashed content that people play for about a week and then bail again. The game was a ghost town 5 months ago, it's a bigger ghost town now. While I can't argue with the notion that you could spend $10 on something worse, you most certainly could spend $10 on something MUCH better.

show me a game mush better to me for ten pound that i dont need to coff up money every month for i have to admit i get bored time to time with the game but i have been playing since closed beta, the amount of improvements since than have been many but i will admit content updates do lack but i have to wonder if that is more cos of the tv series than game it self .for example big ship comes down give a good story and a unquie items to it . if it was so cool that the whole gaming community raved about it they would be hard pressed to place it into the tv series try getting that the budget for that to be accepted by the tight wads who hold the purse strings. sorry all about that little rant .. is it wouth 10 quid yes i think it would be har to find a game with as much as this has for the same amount would i pay for it on a monthly bases like i did for swg,ff,lor, swtor to name a few no i would not cos it lacks in places that i enjoy swg= community,ff=graphics, lor=quests, swtor=story and this game has all of this but not up to the standerd of its pers which lacked in other areas greatly this game lacks in all mildly. you all may not agree with me on this but it is my view on this and i dont disagree with others about the games faults i think i could become great given time money and a good manger like most games that have the possability to become great i think this game will suffer the same fate
