Personally, if you don't mind waiting, I'd wait for Steam's summer sale to start up (should be #Soon anyway since it's June, probably next month if I had to guess). There's always the chance that it might be hit with the sale-hammer like some time ago - season pass was $15 when it was.

If you want to try out the third playable race in the game, then the Castithan Charge Pack is what you'll want. Arkbreaker will let you call down and start your own minor/major arkfalls. 7th Legion and Gunslinger have a faction, weapons, arenas, and pursuits. Arktech Revolution has an outfit, a new faction, and new pursuits/perks.

Check out what you'll get from each DLC pack using the following links:

This game is the only polished Sci Fi mmorpg of its kind right now , it reminds me of Tabula Rasa a little,it also resembles CrimeCraft which is also a free to play although not as well known game. , I like it because it has weapons and vehicles and a big map ( needs to be bigger with more variety and the City of Defiance doesn't even exist on map yet? Well , the truth is if you do not buy the DLC you will not have access to the content. This game doesn't seem to have much of a coherent design plan , it's sort of a patch work of an idea that wasn't completely fleshed out,the various dlc barely seems to fit but somehow they do ,I don't really see a story here its more of a frame work with pseudo story elements but they are not coherent. It would be nice if it did make sense. The game seems kinda slapped together , with that being said I don't know why really , that I keep going back to this game I play it about two or three times a week , u can jump in , play a coop mission , blast some enemy aliens and log out and its cool , no major ordeal. Rift on the other hand also by Trion and not a Sci fi game ( not one firearm in it) is a real detailed game and you invest huge amounts of time in building up your characters powers and weapons just like in World of Warcraft the game it got many of its ideas and game mechanics from and improved on them. So if you like Defiance and enjoy playing it , then I would buy the DLC because it gives you content missions and gear which you will want later on and without it the game will grow boring. That is probably why Trion keeps making DLC because the basic game is so sparsely done. One thing that I always wondered is what happened to the rest of the United States ? Why only a small portion of Missouri? Well , the arch thing , it's a man made monument in Missiouri. St. Louis to be exact. it's like a Twilight Zone episode where a force field encompasses only a certain area for players of this game to travel in. Kinda stupid if you ask me.

Save your money until you have enough for season pass. Just makes more sense.

You do know that the game isn't set in Missouri, right? That it's set in the location of the Battle of Defiance (San Francisco) that the city in the show is named after?

To answer what happened to the rest of the US (and other places):
