I love this game, but I usually play solo (except for some quests that kinda requires the aid of others). I say this because the game is almost dead nowdays. Sometimes, it's very hard to find people to play with , specially at higher levels

The game is still amazingly fun, though.

I always tell folks to join a clan ASAP, but I promise I tell y'all that for a reason! Ask for a good clan in Zone Chat during prime time and you'll get recruiters. :)

I've worked on Defiance for over three years now and I still love it, but I might be a little biased.

started playing again after a few years with friends and we're enjoying it, more than any game we've bought over the last couple of years! So we've put some money into it for dlc and vehicles :D

Fun game still, have played since it came out as a Buy to Play, but its numbers are dwindling fast it feels like. I hardly see a soul on now days, al the clan I was in and the 3 prior to that no longer play and being I am not a prime time player (wrong time zone I live in) it gets hard to find a group to do some content. But I still log in and snipe some of the AI's heads for half an hour to kill some time :)

I love this game too. I dont know why it has such mediocre ratings. I tend to only do the events because i play solo, but that is really fun. and i do try a lot of new games, but the only game i have ever come back to this consistently is Defiance. AND, i have never bought an dlc content. for me, this is the best combat system i have ever played

It's worth a redownload

There are also Clans that do invites only, no active recruiting. You would need to get noticed by these. Good performace, helpful.. ..etc, or ask a member.

Is there any new content in the base game or do you have to buy the DLC packs for new gear sets and weapons?

If you have had it since launch its unclear to us when you put it down.If you've played up to about when the show got canceled there is not much else. Its clear Trion does not allocate enough funds to rhis one and also clear they are understaffed.

The game was fun until the whole "because grenades" rebalance, introduction of constant cash shop loot crates, lowering of drop rates, completely insulting loot quality, the arkforge rebalance rates, the pushing of insane amounts of arkforge to improve gear (more then it used to be) and the $$$ to arkforge ratios.

Seriously, it would take around $50 for me to improve one of my good OJ weapons to supreme with good rolls. Well, maybe more because its a gamble really. Sure you don't have to pay cash for arkforge or the uber synergies. You can always just grind your days away during the event arkfalls.

As far as content goes, there has not been much of anything new. There was some story missions added but that took me all of a couple hours to get through. So ya if you've made it through the campaign and are a decent EGO then all that's left is to farm for arkforge or do other repitious activities. Its MMO-ie so yes grinding is a big part of this. Its not up to me to decide if you will find it enjoyable. If you loved it before you took a break its core has not changed. Your break may have made it all fresh again or you might be done.

If you're on the fence just give it an install. You have nothing to loose! I don't play amymore but I keep it installed in case I ever get the urge to squish some hellbugs or run around and do a few arkfalls just for fun :)
