Linux Version
This looks frighteningly like Dwarf Fortress, but dumbed down as to not be horribly intimidating even to *nix gurus, and graphics'd up as to be appealing to dull twits like myself. The one problem is that I'm on Linux and this game isn't. It seems like Linux gamers are a perfect target audience for this sort of game.

I do hope to see this game released for Linux someday, but please... the differences between the average "Linux gamer" and, say, the average "Windows gamer" is smaller than the differences among those groups. You can sell any game on Windows, Mac OS X or Linux. The difference is just the size of the market, not its preferences.

That's not a particularly helpful thing to say. =/
Perhaps explain why?

Linux would be much more fun with this game. Shisen-Sho and tux-racer only hold out so long. However, this is made with Dot-net and XNA (some of which ports straight over, some does NOT) so it might mean a bunch of re-writing. I think you will best be effective requesting this once the game is at or beyond version 1.0 .

Any update on this?

It can be done rather quick with monogame.

I would highly suggest you go over to forums.gnomoria.com with that statement and tell it to 'RoboBob', he's the guy writing/maintaining this game. I think if you can convince him easily, and offer any assistance you can, you might be able to get a linux-ready version instead of hoping for wine compatability. I don't know the status with Wine btw... but i've used Wine before and it works pretty good. I am going to say though, that he might not want to do it until this is a bit closer to 'done'.
I'd pitch in for another copy, if he ports it to linux, if it means anything.

Because Gnomoria is done by a single person and Linux support is not planned before release (but it is on the Development plan, just like a Mac version, for after release), and the game is not even done yet.

Ports to other systems can wait/happen after the game is done. As opposed to the single dev that is working on this, having to make all the changes on multiple plattforms and thus slowing progress down.

Nah Ishan is right. Gnomoria dev is one dude and he did put Mac/Linux support on post release list.

Keep in mind this game is still single threaded so it's not exactly a pillar of awesome code to start with.

Curious. Does it run in Wine with Mono?
