Having the gnomes do what you want and not what you tell them to do is the thing that makes it the most fun.
Oh and yes a way of sorting build priorites would be awesome but I think that might be one micro management step too far!
It is the builders that do.
Not sure how i feel about this. It borderline oversimplifies things and would make people learn even less about the mechanics in place, which then would lead to even more complaints about not understanding how priorities work in this game.
And priority management is one of the key aspects of this game, so chipping away at it for a little convenience... i am not sure how i feel about that.
Maybe we should get influence zones, like Dwarf Fortress, where you can limit a certain worker to a certain sphere of influence. That way you could direct their work a little bit, by simply assigning them to the area the job you want to be done right away first, without needing to cancel all your other jobs and without taking away from the learning process.
