Middle Click to Suspend Workshop?

So I've been playing this game for a couple hundred hours now and I have found that I spend a surprising amount of time in the workshop menus, micromanaging the gnomes. I understand that time is paused while in these menus, but it still feels like it slows the gameplay down sometimes when I have to manually reset a dozen workshops to free up gnomes for a quick job.

As a potential solution, I think some sort of a special click (middle click, control+click, shift+click, etc,...) could work. It would mean that you could easlily suspend a workshop without ever entering a menu and pausing the game.

I like this idea I've always found myself clicking through a million menus to get a workshop to suspend this is something that would be really worthwhile. As a matter of fact a whole host of shortcuts would be awesome. Maybe customizeable controls? Please make this happen
