Thanks for asking :) There won't be a Steam upgrade option available, I don't think. I could look into it, but we do (finally) have an alternative available!

The soundtrack/artbook are now available on iTunes for $6 (US - regional pricing varies, but will be shown in iTunes).

Please note: you need to buy the whole album to unlock the art book. That's iTunes policy/procedure - nothing we can do about it.

Though iTunes is an option, which is welcome, I'd rather prefer the possibility to upgrade the edition through Steam.

I don't understand why you don't have an upgrade on Steam. You can even price it like the iTunes version so it costs more than just having bought it in the first place. I don't use iTunes and I don't plan on starting.

I've mentioned this in the other threads on this topic, but we asked Valve if we could do this 6 months ago (before release), and they said no. I'm sorry man, my hands are tied on this - the reason it is up on iTunes in the first place is so that we could get around this issue and people could still get the soundtrack/art book if they wanted to.

That's really weird since plenty of other games have upgrades up as DLC.

I think Steam's policy doesn't allow an upgrade option that doesn't add any in-game contents ( which is the case for Contrast ). But what about releasing the soundtrack as a separable DLC in the Steam store? It's allowed and many games have this, like Don't Starve and Payday series, FTL,. etc. A well-known example of a game with DLC that includes music/art books only ( no in-game content ) is Electronic Super Joy ( look up "Electronic Super Joy - Bonus Content Pack" ). Since this mentioned type of DLC requires the related base game to work, it'll fit the desire of us supporters perfectly

There are many games with upgrade to deluxe edition, don't know why Contrast cannot do the same...

Some examples here, some games are not listed like Trine 2 upgrade etc.
