Default Windows build swapping to 64-bit
Hi Guys,

Tomorrow ( Saturday 14th June ) we'll be releasing Patch 0.2.6. As part of this patch we're switching the default public build to be Windows 64-bit. This may cause the game to stop working for a small minority of players who are running Windows 32-bit editions.

If you find you can no longer run the game, chances are you are using Windows 32-bit. We've setup a special branch for your guys that you'll need to switch to so that you can keep receiving updates. Instructions on how to access it are included below.

Those of you who are opted-in to the debugging64bit beta build can now exit out of that, although we'll be keeping that updated too.

Windows 32-Bit Version
If you are unable to run Folk Tale on Windows, it’s possible that you are running the 32-bit version of Windows. To access the 32-bit build of Folk Tale, please follow these steps.
1. In your Steam Library, right click on ‘Folk Tale’ and select Properties.
2. Click the fourth tab labelled ‘Betas’
3. In the dropdown list, select folktale(windows32-bit) and click close
4. Wait for Steam to auto-update
5. If the update fails to download, quit and restart the Steam Client

Yay! Thanks! Still waiting for spawns to check it out but the 0.2.6 update is appreciated.

Will the final build be both 32 and 64 bit or just solely 64 bit? Because if you are abandoning 32 bit, I have just wasted $20

Our intention is to support both 32-bit and 64-bit. To enjoy the game at the highest fidelity the 64-bit version will be required.

Thank god for this! I just bought the game today and when it wouldn't play I started to panic. Good to see you will continue to support 32-bit as well.

Can we get a save feature soon? It sucks having to restart everytime you turn off the game.

Already in, but we aren't adding the UI until we're happy it's very reliable. Please see 'Game State' under the in-game Console Guide:

If we had released Load/Save with UI several patches ago when we added the first pass of the code, we would have generated lots of support posts that take time to answer. By having it in the console, it becomes available for testing by active community members, while reducing the support burden.

Maybe you could do a beta patch with the UI and get the community ideas and feed back. Frankly I would just be happy for 2 new buttons added to my Esc menu. Saying "Save/Load."

I don't think we're far off reaching the UI point anyway.

Nice. I will wait and watch. Good things come to those that wait.

oh one more thing. I was playing the new dungeon crawler map. Which I was enjoying a lot but half way through the map. My people left my village. Taking all the gear they had on them. I sure this was my fault for not building a barn or something before exploring the dungeon.

I just wanted to give you a heads up as there might be a lot of people like me having that same thing.
