Need to run Steam as an administrator..?
Why?! Usually games only ask for the admin password when I install them. Then most of them never bother me about it again. This game actually requires me to run Steam as an admin, which I have never encountered before in any game. And not just when I install it, but everytime I launch it. So what's up with that? Seems shady. At the very least it's inconvenient.

Even if i run steam as an administrator its not letting me play. It keeps giving me the same message about needing to be an admin...

Hi guys

You can set your OS to run every application as admin this will prevent the message to appear ever again.

I wont use such option, it is just a huge breach to run every app as admin...

set my user as admin on the PC, started Steam as admin but the game will still not run, with same error, it starts trying to update the DirectX then something will pop up and quickly disapear and finally I got the annoying error message.
I tried downloading and installing the DIrectX 9 manually, but it did not work. Any suggestion?

I've just downloaded the game and I am getting the exact same thing. Getting a dialog window up saying Steam is either not running or is not being run as admin.

I've tried running Steam as Admin and still no joy. I've tried logging in to my PC under the admin account and again, still no joy.

A fix for this would be appreciated.

@Khan.D.Man - In order for my game to work I have to start Steam as admin right away. I can't just close Steam and then restart it as admin. For some reason the game does not recognise it unless I reboot my computer. I now have a Start Steam As Admin shortcut on my desktop, that I click first, when I want to play this game.

Small chance it might work, but who knows. This game seems to be very finicky. Hope this is something they will patch away.

I was thinking about installing this to try it out, but I won't bother if it requires running Steam as administrator. That's uncommon and inconvient.

Why does this game need Steam to run with admin rights? It's a security risk.

Yep, and you can leave your door open so thieves don't need to break it when they next time rob you blind.

Its not the only game on here that does it, "District 187", "Soldier Front 2", "Combat Arms" also do this....
