I am using the Firestrike test a lot lately, first to find out that the 2gb 7850 I bought to replace a 1gb 7850 in my crossfire with a 2 gb 7850 oc actually gave lower scores than with the 1 gb card, And after several tweaks, vga bios rewrites and many hours searching for and trying out ideas to speed things up, I was able to email the seller a screen shot and get my money back,so it's paid for itself twice over already. I will likely use it until some tech shift makes it obsolete.
Now I am using the virtual pc to get theoretical benches for what will replace the cards, and plan out my next upgrade cycle. The amount and technical detail given is moderate and easy to relate directly to the less arcane tweaks and settings. Along with a couple of other diagnostic programs, you can make sure your rig is tuned up, and you are getting the best out of what you paid for, especially if you are a gamer. And you really need it if you are like me and HAVE TO try every setting you find even if it threatens doom if tampered with and you can't be bothered to look up exactly what it does. heck, I run it weekly just to make sure nothing is gumming up the works.
