Replacing the music for fun?
Is it possible to replace the music files in the game with anything as long as they're renamed and in .OGG format? I'd love to do a playthrough with that for kicks.

I did a test and it seems to work. You have to properly match the music files though.

They are named in a pretty logical order. Haven't played through the whole game though to see if it works the entire way through.

I replaced the PC-88 track with a rip of my Book 1 and 2 for TurboGrafix 16 as I much prefer that OST to the PC-88 version.

Oh yeah the TG music is far superior. Glad to know it works. I don't mind matching the music files.

How did you get the music? From the game disc?

Yeah I got it from my game disc.

I spent the last 5 hours putting a guide together for you!

I also listed every single track and what they are named if you want to put different music from any source. That's on the very last page of the guide.

Oh my goodness thank you. A guide's more than I could ask for. Wonderfully written as well. If I could upvote you or something I would. :)

Also did one for Ys 2 if you want to try that as well.

I've replaced the music and it's very easy thanks to your guide rpryke. But the thing that's weird is I'm not allowed to change the opening FMV music like p_00ys1 for example. Even removing it, it still plays and I've removed another track just to see and "silence" like it's supposed to be. Any suggestions???
