Fallout New Vegas is an Role Playing Shooter (initially was an isometric Action RPG) developed by Obsidian/Black Isle Entertainment and Published by (in the past Interplay) Bethseda Softworks. You are the Courier, your job was to deliver a package so important that it could change the nuclear-ridden hell-hole we call the Mojave Wastelands, caught by Benny - one of the Chairmen, has assassinated you for your intervention. Assumed for dead, you are buried out of your grave and patched up, alive again. Will you choose revenge, diplomacy and help the Wasteland flourish or die?
Fallout New Vegas plays like the old version of Fallout 1 and 2 statistically, gameplay wise they are intended to be played as First Person Shooters from 3 and NV. You have the following statistics;
Strength influences the control and level required to use your weapons, the melee damage, the critical modifiers and the amount you can carry.
Perception allows your PIPBOY radar to note down enemies in front of you, the higher this value is the greater the radius of your ability 'to see enemies'.
Influences hit points and Action Points which can be used to make Vault-Tec Assisted Targetting (VATS) which presents your attacks in cinematic wrapping like that of the older Fallouts.
Influences your speech skills, your ability to commit deceit, persausion of your opponents and/or favours.
Influences how many 'Skill Points' you get per level. Also influences how much ammo you may make.
Influences all skills a bit whilst upping your critical hit modifier and some of perks.
