This game used to drop me to desktop about every third area I'd go into. Usually after my game gets on in progress quite a bit. It would just start crashing more and more.
This fix worked for me. Thanks a million for the info.
Windows 8
8GB DDR3
i7 quad core 2.2 GHz
Intel HD 4000
I'll get a CTD occasionally, but usually the game will simply stall out on loading a new area (especially around Freeside).
I keep Process Explorer up on a second monitor, and the CPU usage for New Vegas will drop to 0% and stay there. I have to kill the game, otherwise it will just sit on the loading screen.
The weird part is when I reload. I'll use "continue" and the game will stall. I have to use "load" to start the game. The next time the issue occurs, I'll use "load" and the game will stall. Then I have to use "continue" to load the game.
Ah, the joys of PC gaming.
