Windows 8 Trouble
Recently downloaded Fallout 3..did everything in my will power to make it work, no luck. Now I just bought Fallout New Vegas hearing it works on Windows 8 and it crashed on me on the play button. Any suggestions on how to make it work?

I get "Preparing to launch" and then it tells me the game is unavailable. I just got a 360 controller for Windows and I've wanted to use it for New Vegas but if the game won't start it makes it a bit difficult.. But yeah I've got the Windows 8 problem as well.

I had no trouble. Are you using any mods or otherwise?

Fallout 3 does not support windows 7; like some games only support windows 7 64 bit version...
Shame that there are some old games which i really loved, but they arent playable on newer systems (like 2001 Return to Castle Wolwenstein and Siege of Avalon).

When I install Return to Castle Wolfenstein from the disc it works instantly. O_o

For the Fallout3 and Fallout NV issues, do you have a quad core processor?? I know for a fact that F3 does not support 4cores... there is however a fix for that if that's the case. Search for Quad Core Fix for Fallout3 and do what's mentionned (change the value in the fallout.ini)

It's because your game is rusnning on too many cores, and is not yet compatible with Windows 8, message me and I'll try to help you fix it.

why can't he just limit to like 4 cores or 2 cores then?

Run it on one core, and Windows Vista Service Pack 1
