Yes it's already been greenlit.

Shame this didn't come NEAR its goal. From what I read though, at least it will be finished. Eventually.

That'd be Wasteland 2, but this seems decent too. Too bad it's not going to get anywhere near the Kickstarter goal.
This failed kickstarter the first time, because there was nothing original about it. It went well beyond "inspired by" it literally just copied ideas from other games without providing ANYTHING unique or different on its own. Wasteland 2 is looking more likely that it is going to be the spiritual successor to the original Fallout games than this game.
Be aware, the funding of this project is an attempt to just get the prologue made! On top of that, they lowered their goal form their first (failed) kickstarter campain by a whopping 96% .Also, the guy leading the projects main contribution to making games prior to this was working on a Neverwinter Nights 2 mod called "Fallout D20" in which they attempted to "borrow" assets from Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas for a conversion mod. to my knowledge, as of 2011, it remained unfinished. Nevermind the fact he openly said he has no experience in programming or development.

Nuclear is kind of a cliche in post-apocalypse genre by now, except for existing franchises like Fallout. I wish some of these concepts would move beyond it.

What hasn't been explored -- and is arguably more interesting -- are themes of civilization collapse due to resource shortages (maybe oil, maybe food, maybe water, maybe all of them) and so on. Everyone goes tribal.
Or global pandemics that DON'T result in zombies or mutants.
Or maybe a sudden ice age forces everyone to cram around the equator and things get weird.

There are so many ideas that could be explored but it seems like it ends up with this idea that people can make a better Fallout than Fallout, which is lame, instead of trying something new.

I also question their choice of name and logo. It's weirdly similar to Black Isle.

It's sad they didn't get more money. On the other hand, It's funny how Double Fine, InXile and Obisidan can get that much funding, but this one gets near none (okay almost 50k is a lot of money, but not for their goal).

Better luck next time!

We've always got Wasteland 2 to look forward to.
