It's quite okay, I was quite confused when I started modding. But knowing how to search effectively can be very useful. :)

so i downloaded the nexus manager took me a little bit to figure that out. if i download mods with that, will it put them in automatic for me

You need to install your mods after you download them. Nexus mod manager can do this for you. Make sure the mod is active too. Active mods have check marks.

I tried two mods and the keep freezing FNV on loading screen the sprint mod and the hair and stuff for females

Load issue error. Use a mod manager, and also LOOT.
Frankly, if you use more than one mod, just start at the modding for beginners pinned topic in this forum. Modding this game is easy, but you need to learn some basic principles behind it to understand how it works and how to do it. Otherwise the game just insta-crashes.

If you really want to mod your game, you should really check out a youtube user named Gopher. He has series of videos on modding various games. They are extremely beginner friendly and very well done. He talks kind of slowly, so his videos tend to be long, but he is very thorough. I knew nothing about modding when I started watching his videos, and now I have heavily modded, extremely stable versions of Skyrim and Fallout NV. Hope this helps.
