I'd disagree on GRA being well done though.
old world blues, funny, enjoyable, nice house, big area, can get back to it after you finish it, bring items in and out, etc.
dead money.. one shot dlc, can't go back, can't leave and return, can leave with basically unlimited money if you do it right which shouldn't be the case, again, ugly dingy bad environment DLC that i hated the first time i played through it, and really dislike it every time i have to do it again.
My overall favorite is Lonesome Road. And Yes, I agree that it is kind of stupid that all you do is try to reach Ulysses. But for me, I love Lonesome Road because of teh environment, the atmosphere, and the fact that is finally answers all the questions.
To finally get to why I quoted EolSunder, it was because Old World blues is my (very close) second favorite DLC. All his reasons are mine as well, both for OWB and DM. Don't get me wong, Dead Money was an ok DLC, but I just hated how linear everything was. Go here, do this, and in the end you cant eve use the Sierra Madre as a player house. It makes sense, but I still didn't like it.
Personally, i also think it is the best DLC, and it's always the highlight of a character play through. The other DLCs are good too, but they just lack that punch that dead money has IMO.
I'd have to agree with Coathanger, too, though. The story was awesome. The opening scene still gives me chills with how well written the story is. And also the first time I played through was definitely piss-annoying.
Btw, a nice non-dlc mod is "Project Brazil", they are doing something very enjoyable and professional.
Nah you can add the gun runner's arsenal any time. It just adds a whack of weapons and weapon mods into the game in leveled lists and a bunch of unique weapons that are sold by various shopkeepers.
Great mod though cus it brings back lots of old weapons from fallout 1 and 2, as well as a lot of cool new unique weapons.
It also adds a bunch of new challenges like those ones that are like "kill 200 abomonations" and such that give you experience, some pretty unique (like one titled "a man chooses, a slave obeys" and it requires you kill Mr. House with a golf club, in reference to the first bioshock game).
I really enjoyed Lonesome Road. I mean there's some weird stuff and the end fight is pretty hard if you don't at least have some pretty high skills (I think science is needed for that fight if you don't talk your way out of it.) But I thought finally killing the dude who tried to leave his impression on all my other dlcs was nice. This is my world, you don't get to explore it.
Yeah i agree with everything you just said. Thats the same order i like the dlcs in as well.
