It was hopeless from the moment you started it.

I think Falliut 4 should take place in Boston, which has already been rumored, and it should include a co-op mode. Think about exploring the huge world of fallout with a friend, and shaping the world the way you want to based on the decisions both of you make. You would have to rely on each other, make the decisions together and share the consequences. You would need to scavenge for supplies, and survive the elements while completeing intresting side quests. And best of all, none of it would have to do with the number 69.

Yes, I am repeating myself from the Skyrim forums, but it seem so clear that every dudebro that played GTA or Saints Row now thinks that all titles should be saddled with online coop.

Is that so bad? Everything is better with a friend, and i'd rather play a co-op game with a meanigful, memorable story rather than one about hitting people with a rubber penis in a full body bulldog costume.

Yes, it is bad and I will tell you why it is bad. You see, Fallout is supposed to be a cRPG series, and a traditional cRPG series at that. It is what a lot of people want. The generally accepted shortcomings of Fallout 3 are, in Cliff's Notes fashion (google Cliff's Notes if you don't know what those are or were) a generally inferior story as compared to previous itterations of the game, and a general deviation from traditional RPG elements of decision making. statistics and overall gaming system management. Now, with that established, you are suggesting that the dev team, already on a schedule because that's how the business works, takes time away from potential improvement of the core RPG elements to flesh out online coop so that you and your bro can dude it up against some radscorpions.

No, as clearly established not everything is better with a friend.

So you don't think co-op could be a potential imporvement to the RPG elements because its not traditional? Maybe they strayed away from the traditional RPG elements in Fallout 3 to appeal to a younger generation. And just because a co-op mode doesn't fit into Bethesda's busy schedule, that doesn't mean it wouldn't improve the game if they could fit it into their schedule. If you want traditional, go replay the originals, and "me and my bro can dude it up against some radscorpions" in Fallout 4.

No, read what I wrote. It would not be an improvement because it takes time away from core single-play elements which Bethesda hasn't gotten right yet.

Or, you and your bro go play GTA. This is an RPG series. However, it is all moot anyway, as Bethesda is in no way going to do what you suggested.

I don't want to go play GTA5 with "my bro" or Saints Row with "my bro" because neither of them have anything close to a good story. Theyre both about mowing down civilians with machine guns and sex toys. I want to play a game that engages the player with an amazing enviorment, with a gripping story that makes you want to play more, and I want to be able to share it all with a friend. I think that the Fallout universe would be a great place to do something like that. And I know they probably won't do it, but that won't stop me from wanting them to. Nice discussion btw. I'm glad someone actually responded :)

Play elder scrolls online or fallout online. Bethesda has been f*cking over Fallout and TES enough without tacking on coop. To be honest after playing Skyrim my hopes for Fallout 4 are not very high ast this point. It felt like it was built just for consoles and ported to the PC as an after thought. They will probably strip out half of the skills/perks remove any kind of negative impact from doing quests and remove any real factions, you know like they did in Skyrim. I do however hope that I am wrong. And this topic is brought up all the time, probably why most people just don't care anymore.
