Does having low Small & Big Guns skill effect the way i use them?
I purchased a Vindicator Minigun (Mod Item) and i noticed that it requires 100 Gun Skill. I'm mostly a energy weapons kind of guy, so i have low Gun Skill. Does that effect using the weapon in a bad way or something?

Lower accuracy, higher recoil, and less damage I believe

It makes it essentially pointless to use it, especially if you don't have the huge STR requirement.

With melee weapons it affects (well damage) and rate of attack.

with ranged weapons you can't hold it steady.

taking the drug Steady helps. (and big horn steak + booze for the strength requirement)

It also affects the amount of damage you can do with them.

Yeah but it's referred as Guns now. Big and Small guns were only in fallout 3 as separate skills. I guess in New Vegas they both are now merged together into one skill.

Also it would replace the Guns skill with the two categories if you locked on fallout 3 with new vegas via TTW (Tale of two wastelands)
