I would play on your server/missions, but as it turns out my family's router is not good for playing games. It seems to wreck when playing complex games. If it were up to me I would begrudgingly shell out a $100 for a new router but it is not.

Oh well, atleast I got some good ideas from the short time I played your missions and from other people's multiplayer missions. For example, I did not know you could have guys with stinger missiles until I got shot down by one in one of your missions.

Playing the multiplayer has inspired me to make my own missions and improve on what I had. I'm thinking about making a mission where I have a town surrounded, bombing their fuel supplies, and maybe the town in general.

Maybe people are having a tough time with the cold-start Su-25T that is why they leave right away. Pretty easy actually:
1st. Right Shift + L = Electronics start
2nd. Right Alt + Home = Left Engine Start; Right Ctrl + Home = Right Engine Start
3rd. step = Have your throttle all the way down until your engines reach 35% or 3.5/10 RPM or your engines will catch fire. I use to always have my engines catch fire and I have seen other people's too.

half the time they don't even get in a plane, and when they do and take off they just leave after dying without every chatting back... and believe me thats not very often they get that far.

If you really want to play missions on a regular basis with teamwork etc you HAVE to find a group of likeminded people. There is no way around that.
IF you run a public server there should also be a TS server in my opinion.
You need to be able to communicate efficiently. This is essential. Chat isn't efficient so you need something like teamspeak and if there are many people on the server TARS will make the coms much much cleaner. It really helps when you have flights on different UHF frequencies with one VHF AM frequency to communicate between flights (but that's more for organised events).

For US timezones there's always hoggit. I fly with a bunch of germans and swiss...
There are a lot of squadrons out there that are always open to new players. All you have to do is ask.
Any flightsimmer I know likes to help people so however difficult these sims are there are always people that are willing to help new pilots. But you have to be willing to go on teamspeak and invest a little bit of time to learn things.

thats all fine and dandy but when a player joins and leaves, they aren't going to go on teamspeak they can't even take off properly.

I have a teamspeak and its private if they don't respond back to hi, they aren't going to go on a teamspeak server.

I have friends that fly too they have things they must do sometimes so they can't join me to fly, the average DCS player knows nothing about the game, I'm not asking for pilots that know anything at all, I'm asking that people join the server.

50 pct of the servers are running 2-3 mission editors missions and no variety the other 49 pct are running poorly made missions with stuff placed on the taxiway, the other 1 pct is my server.

if you join and die and disconnect cause you find my mission hard, you will find every other mission to hard.

I know what you saying Derbysieger and when i want to play a single mission designers mission and not my own custom missions i will join hoggit like the rest of the masses, but quite frankly I don't want to do that.

I'm just pointing out that the people who are connecting have no clue what they are doing, its amazing how many ppl join once they see these posts in steam discussions tho.

awesome mission, just wish i could stay connected longer. Wierd thing is i can play any mmo but this game i get dc alot. Anyway, there`s atleast single player mode :) I`m still interested in your mission files by the way :)

Why not provide the option for a TS Server then?

Install SL Mod (if you don't have already) make the welcome message on the server an invitation to your TS server and if even one player joins it was worth it.
TBH I don't see the point in flying a mission where I can't even talk to the other players.
Chameleon_Silk Aug 24, 2013 @ 7:12pm
the TS is not a public teamspeak, and majority of players who want to get on TS can get on TS they need only ask me about it and take the extra step of inquiring, I've used SL mod and servman in the past and i don't really have an excuse not to have it setup.

I make these posts to gather new pilots to fly with and it works, or I wouldn't make them to begin with, my friends list increases everyday and you won't find to many that dislike my mission files, so given time maybe I won't need to post here at all :P if i were to just wait for people to connect like i have been last 3 days I would have an empty server (besides myself) because the behaviour i was speaking about is from the randoms that come in not the people comming from seeing this post.

Hi, seems you've play this game a lot, and can I ask you a question?
Is ground vehicle playable in this game?
Steel Crow Aug 24, 2013 @ 9:05pm

First time iv had a look in Multiplayer, didnt see the server mate but im thinking 7am isnt a great time, Ill peek in again later, see if I can show you how to crash an A10c :)
Chameleon_Silk Aug 24, 2013 @ 11:09pm
you would think it would be a horrible time but I actually work nights so its not uncommon for me to be up at this time on the weekend, server is down atm because I am modifying the forces, adding JTAC and fixing a few issues with the map file, should be up in about a half hour if you still want to show me how to crash an A-10C, although I'm pretty good at that already.
Chameleon_Silk Aug 25, 2013 @ 1:19am
server is back up will be up for a complete map cycle (5 hrs) added blue JTAC, rebalanced tank forces to have smaller columns for less conjestion of the roadway after a long match and brought the red bunkers closer from around the bend and fixed A-10C waypoints to point directly at the bunkers in 2D data instead of way up into the sky.

Was just on with you for a bit, til I got a CTD
roly!342 Aug 25, 2013 @ 7:27am
Main Reason I Leave Servers:
• insane amount of targets to kill as mission objective.
• no mission briefing.
• no waypoints.
• flight time to target exceeds 15 minutes ( DCS too unstable to get there and crash).
• overwhelming amounts of SAM (6x per player- is insane).
• unclear objectives.
anyway hope this helps
