Hi Gafil, not at the moment, but the DCS community have a big demand for it. Sadly till yet there is no developer statement for or against support in the future. I personaly think Eagle Dynamics (the developer) is waiting for the consumer version and then decide for or against support
Blah, what a bummer, it literally takes like under a day to code everything to make it oculus enabled.
I know that 3dvision only almost works due to the way HUDs are rendered. I don't know if that could cause an issue with oculus rift compatibility.

I have no clue about coding (yet), so I really can't say.:plane:
TBH sim games like this you should use tracker IR 5 google it theres a lot of good videos check out some of the ones from dislexi
Nah, i would rather an imersive experiance, not just head tracking.
Gadiltafish.....

*Pretty much all your grammar.
You can barely even speak English! I acually have two programmers working for me currently, one of which has a Bachelor of Science in computer programming. Coding for the Occulus Rift is very easy as their SDK is damn-near drag and drop.

I have a TIR5 and I love it, but once the rift has 6DOF and 3D HD HMD, the TIR is dead. The TIR was a great way to manage it before, but the freedom to look away from the monitor, and not be constrained to a camera's FOV are too much of an improvement. I'll reserve judgement until the consumer model hits, but if it does all those things...

Right now I think the rift only has 3DOF, but to be honest, that is what I use most in games now anyway. Leaning in Arma, or poking about the cockpit in DCS is about the extent of my translations.

Long live the TLA. It has been used a lot here today.

PS : Dslyecxi :) It's spelt somewhat oddly, as a joke, I presume.

This looks great, and I hope when a consumer version of occulus Rift comes out, we will be able to get an upgrade.
I heard that you can't see the keyboard with the rift so I wouldn't use it since you are still going to need it.
After using a particular keyboard for awhile, its pretty easy to memorise where all the buttons are.
Oculus Rift would be amazing with this! The immersion would be intense!! Not seeing the keyboard may be an issue but I agree with Gafiltafish in that you probably don't look at your keyboard as much as you think and could probably get by with a bit of practice. Also, might be good idea to invest in something such as the TM warthog? I know I will be :D
I won't switch to the Oculus because it would limit me severely during flights:

1. I have my keyboard set up as the UFC. Entering coordinates, new waypoints, editing weapon profiles on the DSMS page - I can do that very fast and efficient via my keyboard.

Now imagine doing that with the occulus rift on. I have my hands on my warthog HOTAS (stick between my legs, Throttle to the left of my chair) now if I want to enter something in the CDU with the rift on it's a huge PITA even if I had mouse and keyboard on the right. Not worth it tbh.

2. I use my second monitor during flights for things like missionbriefings, pictures of the target area, 9-line cards, Teamspeak with TARS or Aries plugin, chat etc. all not possible with the Rift and I know people who use a touchscreen as a secondary monitor to display the MFCDs in the A-10C.

All that wouldn't work with the rift so I'm staying with Track IR.

We are certainlly keeping a close eye on this interesting technology as it matures.
hmmm curious.
Could be a handful of years but yes thinking about it, this could be amazing.
