Does FC3 on steam need LOMAC?
Does anyone here have experience with Flaming Cliffs 3 purchased from steam? Does your computer need an installation of LOMAC first?

No, it doesn't require LOMAC anymore. It runs completely stand-alone on the Steam DCS World, RE:

Thank you. I've been trying to determine that. I can finally free up some space and update to FC3.

oh man! I got the non-steam version because of FC3. Oh well, can non-steam and steam clients play together?

Yes, network play between the Steam and non-Steam is fine.

Don't forget, you can use your existing ED FC3 key to add to Steam as well (Steam menu, Activate Game..), providing it has been imported already (this happens once a month, so if it doesn't work then retry at a later date).

Yep, you can try all your keys - I think the only exception now is the Black Shark 2 upgrade key.

Thanks for the tip! I'm going to try them out.

Black Shark 1 is also an exception, since BS1 uses Steam DRM on Steam, making key databases incompatible.

Great that I can use my original DCS keys on Steam, wondeful service! Only yhe FC3 one doesn't work for me yet, even though I registered it months ago (back when it was originally released). Should I have patience or is something possibly wrong here?

My FC3 isn't working yet either... also it sounds like BS is having some issues too. It's unclear when (or if) this issue will be resolved... definitely don't wanna have to rebuy FC3.

FC3 keys will work; after the next database merger. ED regained full publishing rights to FC3 (allowing sales through Steam) _after_ the previous merger, meaning that old FC3 keys were not part of that transfer. They'll be there in the next one.

Yeah, I was wondering because within DCS world there was no icon/buy option for FC3. I was hoping it would work itself out after purchasing. If anyone works it out let us all know. I'm waiting for a second hard drive for space to install it on by weeks end so I won't be able to install it until then.

Ok, thanks for the info! Will give it a try later on then.

Same here just what i needed to know, will wait to add my key also. Keep us posted when we can add our FC3 to steam.
